Bloomberg: Ivanishvili’s Wealth Increased by $350m in 2017
Bloomberg Billionaires Index, which lists 500 richest persons of the planet, reads that the capital of Georgia’s former Prime Minister, tycoon Bidzina Ivanishvili has increased by $350 million during 2017 to $5.80 billion.
In the list of 500 richest people, Ivanishvili takes 312nd position.
Bloomberg reports that Ivanishvili, 61, made his fortune in post-Soviet Russia during the 1990s, building a collection of iron ore producers, steel plants, banks and real estate.
“He sold the majority of his assets between 2003 and 2006, and the rest in the run-up to his election as Georgian prime minister in October 2012. He stepped down after a year in office,” the Bloomberg says.
Top 10 list of billionaires is led by Jeff Bezos ($100B, USA), Bill Gates ($91.6B, USA), followed by , Warren Buffett (85.5B, USA), Amancio Ortega (75.7 B, Spain), Mark Zuckerberg (73.2B, USA), Bernard Arnault ($63.6B,France), Carlos Slim ($62.3B, Mexico), Larry Ellison ($53.1B, USA), Larry Page ($52.6B, USA) and Ingvar Kamprad ($52.4B, Sweden).
