Reporter Akaki Gogichaishvili Leaves TV Company Rustavi 2

Reporter Akaki Gogichaishvili has left TV company Rustavi 2. He announced his decision on social media, and explained the reasons behind it.

Gogichaishvili explained that the decision to cover specific topics or not was one of the reasons for his departure from the company. “I’m interested to know whether anybody actually likes the topics that are covered on this channel" said Gogichaishvili.  The personal decision seems to be based on political reasons. "Rustavi 2 gave me the opportunity to retain some of my own editorial independence, but this is no longer the case, and is why I left the channel I worked at for more than 20 years”
