Former Deputy Mayor Irakli Lekvinadze Accepts New Business Ombudsman Post
Irakli Lekvinadze, former Deputy Mayor of Tbilisi, has been appointed to be the new Business Ombudsman, with the decision announced by Giorgi Kvirikashvili, Prime Minister of Georgia, at a governmental meeting today.
As the Georgian PM pointed out while introducing Irakli Lekvinadze’s candidature to the post, Lekvinadze is an economist, holding a doctoral degree in business administration, and previously working with various international programs as a consultant. Lekvinadze was also a Vice President of the Young Financier and Businessmen Association.
After the PM, Lekvinadze will be an important link of communication between the government and business sectors.
“I’m sure Irakli will continue the very high-standards already established in this institution, which became very effective indeed during our governance. This will be the voice of business in the government,” Giorgi Kvirikashvili said, wishing success to Lekvinadze on his new post.
