MP Zardiashvili on Drug Policy: State Cannot Be Blackmailed by NGOs

Georgian Dream (GD) ruling party MP, Vano Zardiashvili commented on the demands of the Non-Governmental organizations (NGOs) regarding adoption of a new drug policy, saying the state cannot be blackmailed by NGOs which are asking for the minimum punishment for drug realization.

In particular, Zardiashvili refereed to NGO White Noise Movement, saying the draft drug policy, proposed by them will not be adopted.

“There are a lot of questions about the draft law initiated in the Parliament. The Interagency Commission has been activated… We will carry out a reform step by step, which will be liberal towards consumers, but very strict and ruthless towards drug dealers", Zardiashvili said.
