Deputy Healthcare Committee Chair Slams Anti-Drug Policy Rally
Deputy Chair of Georgian Parliament’s Healthcare Committee, Dimitry Khundadze, slams organizers and participants of the anti-drug Policy rally on January 24, which was held in support of a Georgian actor Giorgi Giorganashvili, who was imprisoned for 8 years for possessing drugs.
Khundadze says it is not nice when Giorganashvili and protesters blame police in planting drugs on the actor.
“All drug addicts say the drugs did not belong to them and were planted by the police,” he added.
Khundadze said the protest rally, held in solidarity to Giorganashvili, was aimed at the legalization of drugs.
He explained that instead of banners like: “Stop war against people” and “No to drug planting”, it would be better if the protest banners said: “No to drugs” or “Yes to healthy lifestyle.”
