Armenia in Top 15 Tourist arrivals in Georgia
Armenian residents taking vacations to Georgia has become very ordinary, those living in Adjara are already living the “Georgian lifestyle” but Armenian summer vacations to Georgia are on the rise.
Armenian travel agent Marina Kprelyan marked it in her speech at a press conference.
“The most popular destination in outgoing tourism is Georgia, since it ensures a very affordable rest, [and] doesn’t require an air flight,” she said. “[But] Greece and Spain are also popular destinations [for Armenia’s residents].” She said.
According to the Georgian National Tourism Administration, Armenia is in the top 15 countries for tourists arriving in Georgia.
It takes third place, taking 12% of the total tourists that Georgia has received.
This year Georgia received around 1’345’937 tourists from around the world, an increase on last year’s total. Most of the tourists come from neighbouring countries, with 1’175’583 coming in the second quarter this year making up 87% of the total visitors.
