Due to the heavy snowfall that hit mountainous villages in the Adjara region, vehicle transportation is currently limited, and 3 kindergartens and 17 public schools are closed in the Shuakhevi muncipality, with road clearing works continuing in the villages of Shuakhevi and Khulo. 33 out of the 50 schools in Khulo were closed due to the worsened weather conditions, and all of the kindergartens. The snowfall also caused electricity shortages in the mountainous region of Adjara, although according to the information from Energo Pro Georgia, electricity will possibly be restored by the end of the day.
Landslides are being reported at several locations in the Keda municipality, with roads inaccessible across numerous areas in Zvare, although the roads are being cleared and are expected to open soon. Namonastrevi, Silibauri and Shevaburi villages were also without electricity. The transportation on international road routes has not been effected however, as the information on the Adjara government’s website says.
