Special Operation - The Latest

Further to a special operation conducted near the Iota hotel area in Sololaki district, Tbilisi, one Iranian citizen has been arrested, allegedly suspected in plotting a murder, and reportedly paying for someone to buy a weapon and organize it. The person who was to be attacked was allegedly also of Iranian origin.

As David Latsabidze, Deputy Director of the Central Criminal Police Department of The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia commented to Georgian TV Channel Rustavi 2, the special operation was conducted jointly by State Security Service and the Prosecutor’s Office of Georgia, arresting an Iranian citizen, accused in planning a murder, the suspect, as David Latsabidze said, was planning to pay $5500 for the organization of the crime.

The person arrested is already detained, Georgian media reports.
