Georgian Nikoloz Bregvadze in the GIST Tech-I Competition Semi-Finals
Georgian Nikoloz (Niki) Bregvadze, who participates in the annual GIST Tech-I Competition, is currently in the competition semi-final with his idea of creating an online platform, enabling students and their tutors to engage live with each other. Through the online platform, students supervised by their parents can get help with their textbooks, homework, prepare for upcoming school exams and take online practice tests, the project idea description reads.
The Global Innovation Through Science and Technology (GIST) Tech-I annual competition is for entrepreneurs in the science and technology fields from emerging economies globally, bringing together innovators from more than 80 emerging economies this year, who submitted their ideas and start-ups online, which were then reviewed by experts and later voted by the public.
This year, there are 109 semi-finalists from 46 emerging economies, and as the information at the GIST website says, “The semi-finalists were chosen by the Tech-I Alumni Mentors, who reviewed hundreds of applications to pick the best competitors”. The start-ups voted into the semi-final stage will then have a chance to compete in the Tech- I Finals at the 2018 Global Entrepreneurship Congress to be held in Istanbul, Turkey.
