'Produce in Georgia' To Create 16,000 Jobs

First Vice-Premier Dimitri Kusishvili has claimed that 16,000 jobs will be created within the framework of the Produce in Georgia project. 

"When we say that our government's priority is the freedom of business and promotion of local production, especially in the regions, we confirm this with the reforms implemented under the initiative of the Prime Minister and Government of Georgia. I can say that one of the most successful state programs is Produce Georgia”, Kumsishvili said. 

According First Vice-Premier, the program has already approved 335 projects, with the total investment of over 815 million GEL and over 419 million GEL worth of loans issued by commerical banks. 

“According to the current statistics, more than 13 300 new jobs have been created in our country with the support of the program Produce in Georgia, and I am very happy that 3,000 more people will be added to this figure today", Kumsishvili said.
 
In June 2014 the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, together with the Ministry of Agriculture, launched a new government program “Produce in Georgia”. The program was initiated by former Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili and is directed towards  entrepreneurship development through establishing new enterprises, advancing existing ones and promoting entrepreneurial culture in the country.  

Moreover, the program focuses on increasing the competitiveness of the private sector and enhancing the country’s export potential. 

Prouduce in Georgia incorporates three components: 

  • Acces to fInance
  • Access to Infrastructure 
  • Consulting Services
