Chairman of Health and Social Issues Committee On Official Visit to Armenia

On March 18, according to the Parliament of Georgia’s official page, the Chairman of Health and Social Issues Committee will visit in Republic of Armenia.

Akaki Zoidze will visit Armenia along with a high-level delegation of the World Health Organization on March 19-20. Within the framework of the visit, Akaki Zoidze will meet with the Chairman of the National Assembly of Armenia Ara Babloyan, Prime Minister of Armenia Karen Karapetyan, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Healthcare and Social Issues Iakob Yakobian and Minister of Health of the Republic of Armenia Levon Altunyan.

A meeting is also planned with the Director of National Institute of Health, Alexander Bhaskhyan, and representatives of international organizations. A main press conference will also be held within the visit of the delegation members and the Minister of Healthcare of the Republic of Armenia. The Chairman of the Health and Social Issues Committee of the Parliament of Georgia will discuss the process of adoption and adoption of tobacco control legislation in Georgia. 

The discussion will be centered around the process of the adoption of tobacco control legislation in the Republic of Armenia, in accordance with the World Health Organization (WHO) Framework Convention (FCTC), as well as with the experience of European countries in this regard.
