The Top 10 Taxi Driver Names

The taxi call service "Maxim" created a list of the Top 10 most popular names among Georgian taxi drivers in recognition of International Day of he Taxi on March 22.

They originate from Greek, Hebrew and Georgian culture.

The most common name is, perhaps unsurprisingly, Giorgi, followed by David, Irakli and Mamuka. About an equal number of drivers are named Mikheil, Shalva, Shota and Tornike.

The top ten male taxi driver's names are:
1. Giorgi - 10%
2. David - 4,5%
3. Irakli - 2,6%
4. Mamuka - 1,9%
5. Levan - 1,8%
6. Zaza - 1,7%
7. Zurab - 1,6%
8. Lasha - 1,6%
9. Gocha - 1,4%
10. Gela - 1,3%

Rare names were also found, like Emin, Tigran, Tengo and Anwar.
Taxi driving is one of the most popular professions in Georgia.
