Five Georgian Criminals Arrested in Spain for Robbery
Spanish law enforcers arrested 5 Georgians in Madrid and Almeria on charges of organized criminal group membership.
The suspects are accused of robbing 14 apartments in Spain. Among them are 4 men and one woman. According to the investigation, the detainees had a specially elaborated plan.
Spanish law enforcers had been watching the suspects since January. The special operation was carried out when the suspects were robbing one of the flats.
During the search, the police found large amounts of stolen items and tools that were used by the detained Georgians during the robbery of flats.
Several days ago, 17 members of a criminal group were detained in Athens as a result of a joint operation between Greek and Georgian law enforcement.
The investigation revealed that the detainees had committed an estimated 100 various crimes on the territory of Greece. They are accused of robbery, stealing, and reselling a large amount of stolen items, plus the illegal purchase and holding of firearms.
