Murdered Teen’s Father Addresses Opposition Parties for Support
Zaza Saralidze, father of murdered teenager Davit Saralidze, did not confirm information spread by rally organizer Zviad Kuprava, that they will not continue the protests together.
After Kuprava’s statement that he and Saralidze will be “friends but not co-fighters”, Saralidze made a statement, calling on all political parties to join him and destroy the “whole system.”
“Today, I realized that the government is pressuring us...and trying to cause provocations in peaceful rallies…I have made a decision. I call on all political parties to unite forces in order to demolish this system once and for all,” Saralidze stated.
He explained he did not want to involve any politicians in the protests, adding the government’s actions made him change his mind.
The father of the teenager, killed with another schoolboy Levan Dadunishvili on December 1 in central Tbilisi, says he will not stop fighting until the “system is defeated.”
