Fig Leaf Decoction Burns

A young woman was hospitalized in Tbilisi with sunburns due to a decoction of fig leaves, by which she tried to speed up the process of tanning. According to the head of the burn center Gug Kashibadze, the 26-year-old received lower extremity burns four days ago.

"For three days she was engaged in self-treatment, and after the situation deteriorated, she turned to the Burn's Center, at which point she had second and third degree burns," he said.
The doctor added that the victim is in a stable condition.

He also noted that the incident was the third case of such fig-sap burns so for this summer. Kashibadze urged residents of Georgia not to use decoctions from leaves of figs and/or any other means in order to get a tan.
