Iranian Citizen Claiming to Have No Coronavirus Forcefully Returned to Clinic
Naturally, following the first reported case of the new coronavirus in Georgia, there is certain amount of unrest and a pessimistic attitude within society.
However, one unexpected and amusing incident at the Infectious Diseases Hospital in Tbilisi last night did something to lift this mood: an Iranian patient, who claimed that he had no coronavirus and had been discharged from the clinic, was seen being forcefully returned to the isolation section of the hospital by irate doctors on live TV.
The patient left the hospital in plain clothes and gave interviews to media representatives waiting outside the hospital. He appreared happy, saying that he had tested negative for coronavirus. He was just thanking the Georgian doctors "for their professionalism," when suddenly two doctors ran out of the building and deanded he return to the isolation unit.
"Come with us," one of them repeatedly shouted at the patient.

The confused man, who clearly had not expected such developments, was heard saying "Just a moment, just a moment" as he tried to resist them; however, his efforts failed and doctors forcefully took him back inside the hospital.
When the no less surprised reporters asked one of the doctors about the patient's health, she answered in an abrupt and amusing manner: "No, no, he does not feel well." With these words, she closed the door and disappeared from sight.
It turned out that the testing of the patients for coronavirus had not yet been complete; however, the patient had understood he was in the clear and had left the isolation unit without permission.
The first case of coronavirus was confirmed in Georgia yesterday when one of the 14 patients placed at the Infections Hospital tested positive for the new coronavirus. The infected patient is not the above-mentioned Iranian citizen. Reportedly, he is a 50-year-old Georgian man who traveled to Iran for a week and reentered Georgia from Azerbaijan.
