7 Employees of National Bank of Georgia Infected with COVID-19
Seven employees of the National Bank of Georgia (NBG), who are currently in isolation, have tested positive for the new coronavirus.
Reportedly, the employees were infected as a result of touching cash.
They have been hospitalized and are currently under the supervision of doctors, undergoing appropriate medical procedures. Their condition is satisfactory at this stage.
"The infected persons are employees of one structural unit. They were completely isolated for the last two weeks and have not been in contact with other bank employees,” the NBG said in the statement.
The Bank representatives claim that despite the fact that 90% of the employees perform their duties remotely, intensive disinfection and cleaning works are still carried out in all buildings of the National Bank.
The number of cases of coronavirus infection has increased to 130 in Georgia.
There are 5550 people in quarantine and 281 under examination in hospitals.
26 out of 130 people have already recovered from the illness.
