Georgian Citizen Dies of Coronavirus in Barcelona
The Minister of Foreign Affairs David Zalkaliani today announced the coronavirus-related death of a Georgian citizen in Barcelona, Spain.
He said that a 55-year-old patient had concomitant oncologic disease along with COVID-19.
"Unfortunately, our citizen, born in 1965, has died of coronavirus in Barcelona. The patient had a complicated health condition with the concomitant oncologic disease.
"The Georgian Embassy in Barcelona is in constant contact with the family of the deceased and we will do our best to ensure that the relevant procedures are carried out in agreement with the family,” Zalkaliani said.
This is the 7th reported case of a Georgian citizen dying of COVID-19 abroad.
One patient passed away in Strasbourg, 5 - in Spain; one in the United States.
