15 New Coronavirus Cases Reported in Bolnisi District in the Last 24 Hours
The restrictions imposed within the framework of the state of emergency are expected to further tighten in the Bolnisi district of the Kvemo Kartli region, where 15 new cases of coronavirus infection were reported in the past 24 hours, Shota Rekhviashvili, Governor of Kvemo Kartli region, announced.
The state official explains that the process of closing the administrative center of the Bolnisi municipality and the village of Rachisubani has already started. He once again urged the population to follow the imposed restrictions.
He added that there is a clergyman of one of the temples among the infected people. However, the clergyman has not been in contact with parishioners, as the church is closed.
"We have 15 confirmed cases in the past 24 hours, including cases related to family members of the infected ambulance doctor. One case of a medical staff infection has been reported in Marneuli Municipality, who tested negative 10 days ago, but now we have received a positive answer. There is one clergyman among the newly confirmed cases. He has not been in contact with the parishioners since the church is closed,” he said.
On April 14, it became known that five ambulance medics in Bolnisi tested positive for the new coronavirus.
In total, there are 70 cases of coronavirus infection in the region, with 9 cases of recovery and 1 case of death.
The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases stands at 370 in Georgia.
77 out of 370 people have recovered from the illness, while 3 patients have died.
There are currently 5079 people quarantined and 558 under examination in hospitals.
