Tbilisi Mayor: Restoration of Public Transport Depends on Epidemiological Situation

Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze commented on the possible date of restoration of public transport, claiming that it directly depends on the current epidemiological situation. 

In his words, Tbilisi City Hall is waiting for the instructions of heathcare specialists before taking such a decision. 

"Many people have questions about the restoration of public transport. This is not our decision. We are waiting for the instructions of the specialists of the healthcare field. As soon as they say public transport should be launched, public transport will immediately resume operating. I can't tell you the exact date at this stage," Kaladze explained. 

Public transport, including buses and the metro, was halted in Tbilisi on March 31 as a part of universal quarantine declared in Georgia.
