Three of Four Fires in Mestia Localized
Firefighters of the Emergency Management Service have managed to localize three of four fires in the forest near Khaishi village in Mestia municipality, in the Svaneti region of western Georgia.
However, a fire at the fourth location still couldn't be localized due to difficult terrain.
200 firefighters and 10 fire engines are working on the spot.
Four helicopters of the MIA Border Police have also been involved in the fire elimination works.
The forest fire broke out on June 5.
The firefighting works have been underway for the fourth day in a row.
The Emergency Management Service of Georgia reports that at the moment the situation is under control and there is no danger of the fire spreading to populated areas.
