University Entrant Infected with Coronavirus Allowed to Take Exams

A university entrant who tested positive for the new coronavirus on July 7 has been allowed to take the Unified National Exams.

The Ministry of Education has announced that the entrant will be provided with an appropriate environment in the area where the infected patient is undergoing treatment.

The examination will be conducted under the supervision of doctors and representatives of the examination center.

The relevant decision was made by the Interagency Coordination Council in coordination with the agencies of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Georgia, based on the recommendations of doctors and taking into account the patient's condition.

For the record, the mentioned entrant tested positive for the virus after passing the Georgian language and literature exam.

All contacts of the infected person were identified. Nine university entrants who were in contact with the infected patient are now in quarantine and under medical observation and will undergo PCR Testing before each following exam.

Reportedly, the university entrant was infected by a family member.
