MIA: Deceased Woman Found in Mtkvari Employee of Bauhaus Bar

A deceased woman found in Mtkvari River today is the missing employee of Bauhaus Bar, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia has confirmed. 

"Employees of the Emergency Management Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs have recovered the body of a young woman missing from the Bauhaus bar, as a result of intensive search operations in Mtkvari. 

"Various investigative actions have already been carried out regarding the case. Bauhaus bar staff, family members of the missing youngsters, friends and other persons involved in the case have been questioned. 

"The investigation is still underway to find the young man who also went missing from the bar," reads the statement released by the Ministry. 

Two employees of Bauhaus Bar in Tbilisi, Baia Beruashvili and Giorgi Shalamberidze, left the bar and went missing on August 15.

The last place they were seen is Silver Street (Vertskhlis Kucha) near the House of Justice in Old Tbilisi.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs was informed about the disappearance of the two youngsters at 9 PM on August 15. An intensive search operation was launched immediately.

An investigation is underway under Article 143 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which stipulates illegal deprivation of liberty.
