Coronavirus: Georgia Reports 18 New Cases, 19 Recoveries

As of August 31, 18 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Georgia, bringing the total number to 1487, a government-run special website stopcov.ge reports.

Out of 18 new COVID-19 cases, seven had contact with an infected patient, and 11 have been imported, said Marina Ezugbaia, the Medical Director of the Tbilisi Infectious Diseases Hospital.

The number of recoveries has increased by 19, reaching 1240. 

5524 people are under a 14-day mandatory quarantine and 221 - under medical observation.

19 people have died of the virus in the country.

Currently, there are 228 active cases in Georgia.
