Gov't Urges Businesses, Citizens to Strictly Follow Safety Recommendations

The Interagency Coordinating Council led by the Prime Minister calls on businesses and citizens to follow the recommendations of the Ministry of Healthcare and specialists as much as possible in order to avoid additional regulations being imposed.

The government administration reports that Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia held a working meeting with the members of the Coordination Council due to the record high number of new cases of coronavirus in the country in the past 24 hours.

Council members stressed that despite the increase in cases of infection, the government is fully in control of the situation in terms of the spread of the virus in the country.

At the same time, the importance of tightening control over the implementation of the recommendations by the Ministry of Health and specialists was once again emphasized.

The Interagency Coordinating Council once again urges citizens to avoid overcrowded gatherings, to maintain social distance as much as possible, and to wear a face mask indoors and on public transport.

45 new cases of coronavirus were confirmed in Georgia during the last 24 hours, bringing the total number to 1729.

This is a record high daily number for the country.
