NCDC Head: Large-scale Restrictions Not Planned in Tbilisi
Amiran Gamkrelidze, the Head of the National Center for Disease Control, says that coronavirus-related restrictive measures are not planned throughout the country, and only pinpoint restrictions are being considered.
The same applies to the capital of Georgia, and there are to be no large-scale restrictions in Tbilisi.
“Only pinpoint restrictions will be imposed. For example, when we have cases of infection in a school, the school will not be closed completely, only the affected class will be closed and children moved to self-isolation. The same model will be employed in kindergartens and other institutions. The pandemic will not end for a while, and we have to get used to living with the virus in our midst,” he stressed.
478 new cases of coronavirus were reported in Georgia in the last 24 hours, while 211 patients are reported to have recovered from the virus.
8 coronavirus-related deaths were recorded in Georgia in the last 24 hours and the death toll has increased to 93.
As of today, there are 5642 active cases of coronavirus in Georgia.
