2 Members of Parliament Test Positive for Coronavirus
Two members of the Parliament of Georgia, Nino Tsilosani and Genadi Margvelashvili, have tested positive for coronavirus.
MP Tsilosani wrote about it on social media.
"I also joined the list of people infected with coronavirus, the answer came today. Now I'm especially worried about the people around me. This is a responsibility that everyone should remember. Although I tried to be careful by following all the recommendations, the fact is that it is a very dangerous virus," she wrote.
MP Genadi Margvelashvili and his family member have also been infected with the virus.
The MP said he last visited parliament on Monday, October 12, and tested positive for the virus on Thursday. He notes that he had contact with only members of the staff during his visit to parliament.
As of October 19, 1186 new cases of coronavirus have been detected in Georgia, bringing the total number of infected people to 18,663.
Currently, there are 10,182 active cases in the country.
