Family Doctors of Insurance Companies to be Involved in COVID-19 Management

"We are not discussing the introduction of a state of emergency, as we do not consider it necessary at this stage," said the Minister of Health, Ekaterine Tikaradze, after the meeting of the Interagency Coordination Council.

She noted that the engagement component of family doctors in the management process of coronavirus patients has recently increased.

Effective today, family doctors of insurance companies will be involved in the management of coronavirus. All insurers and family doctors who are involved in this program have this obligation. Every citizen will be able to find out his/her family doctor’s name by providing an ID number on a special website any day now,” said Tikaradze.

Georgia has reported 1872 new coronavirus cases, 14 deaths and 603 recoveries today.
