805 Fines Issued by Police for Breaching the COVID-19 Regulations
During the last 24 hours, 805 people were fined for breaching the COVID-19 regulations in Georgia. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 641 of those citizens have been charged for breaking the rule of wearing face masks.
Furthermore, 164 people were fined for breaching the Code of Administrative Offenses, Article 42(10), which includes the violation of isolation and quarantine rules.
Breaking the rule of wearing a mask in closed and public spaces results in a fine of 20 GEL for individuals, while disobeying the quarantine and isolation rules comes at a cost of 2000 GEL.
Georgia reported 858 new COVID-19 cases and 14 deaths during the last 24 hours. To this day, there have been 259,209 confirmed cases and 3208 deaths in the
country. The first Coronavirus case in Georgia was documented on February 26, 2020.
