Nugzari Tatalashvili Moving To UAE
Nugzari Tatalashvili, a Georgia fighter, will be moving to the United Arab Emirates on September 1. The IJF approved the transfer of the athlete who will join the team at the World Championships in Baku in September.
Tatalashvili is currently not at the training camp in Japan, where most top athletes of Georgia are, due to his recovery from a leg injury. The transfer to UAE was approved based upon the Olympic charter and neither federation will disqualify the athlete. Tatalashvili will be able to compete for the UAE and qualify for the 2020 Olympic Games.
Tatalashvili will be joining many athletes who left their countries in order to fight for the UAE, such as the former world number one Davaadorj Tumurkhuleg of Mongolia, with Nyamsuren Dagvasuren and heavyweight Temuulen Battulga also having announced they will switch to the UAE.
More are expected to follow their example.
