Georgia's Petriashvili Wins Wrestling World Championships

Georgian heavyweight freestyle wrestler Geno Petriashvili has for the second time become a winner after defeating Chinese Zhiwei Deng at the Wrestling World Championships underway in Budapest, Hungary on October 20-28.

He won a gold medal at the 2017 World Wrestling Championships and in 2016 he won the European title and two bronze medals at the European championships in 2013 and 2017.

He also won a bronze medal at the European Games in 2015 and a bronze medal at the Rio Olympics in 2016.

The United World Wrestling (UWW), the international governing body for the sport, named Petriashvili the 2016 Best Freestyle Athlete.
