Georgian Success at Bosphorus Cup
The Bosphorus Cup figure skating tournament was held in Istanbul, Turkey November 27 – December 1. Among 133 participants from 22 countries competing for honors in eight events, Georgian figure skaters won two medals for the country.
During the four-day competition, Morisi Kvitelashvili took gold in the Senior Men category with a total of 220.73 points. Another Georgian skater, Irakli Maisuradze, scored 179.50 points and came in fourth place. Second and third places went to Ivan Shmuratko from Ukraine and Basar Oktar from Turkey, respectively.
14-year-old Alina Urushadze, skated for Georgia in the Junior Ladies event, claiming 144.66 points to win the silver medal among 29 participants.
There was a Georgian involved in the other side of the tournament as well - Salome Chigogidze served as a judge.
