Basilashvili Qualifies to Doha Tournament Quarter-Finals

Renowned Georgian tennis player Nikoloz Basilashvili, ranked the 21st in the world, has qualified at the Doha tennis Tournament quarter-finals after beating Spanish Albert Ramos-Viñolas on December 31 and Russian Andrey Rublev on January 2.

The quarter-final will be held at 3.50pm today, where Basilashvili will meet Novak Djokovic, a Serbian professional tennis player who is currently ranked world No. 1 in Men's Singles tennis by the Association of Tennis Professionals.

In July 2018, Basilashvili, 26, became the first Georgian to win an ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals) World Tour title.

On October 7, in the China Open final, Basilashvili defeated Argentinian Juan Martin Del Potro. He received 500 ATP Ranking points and collected $733,320 in prize money for lifting the trophy.
