Georgia Beats Romania in Rugby Europe Championship

On 9 February, the Georgian National rugby team defeated Romania in the Rugby Europe Championship in Cluj, Romania.

The game, the first match of the championship for the Georgian team, ended 18 - 9 to Georgia. The Georgian team scored 2 tries, 2 penalties and 1 conversion.

The Georgian team will play its second match against Spain on February 17 at Avchala Stadium in Tbilisi.

The Rugby Europe Championship is the premier rugby union competition in Europe for countries outside of the 6 nations rugby tournament. Georgia, Russia, Spain, Belgium, Romania, and Germany are competing for the title.

After the first round of matches played this weekend, Georgia, Belgium, and Spain are leading the group.
