Georgians Dominate Judo World Rankings

Georgians occupy 5 of the top 10 places on the world Judo rankings for senior males judokas.

In the rankings, published by the International Judo Federation (IFJ), Varlam Liparteliani, captain of the Georgian Judo team, ranks as number one in the world, whilst Guram Tushishvili is second. Vazha Margveliashvili,  Amiran Papinashvili and Lasha Shavdatuashvili have also placed in the top 10 at positions 6, 9, and 10 respectively.

The results reflect the success of the Georgian judo team who regularly win international competitions. Varlam Liparteliani won gold at the international Grand Slam in Paris on Monday.
