Great Batumi Night Race Takes Place in Batumi

The Great Batumi Night Race took place in Batumi on the night of April 20.

Bringing together thousands of runners from around the world, the marathon hopes to promote a healthy lifestyle and tourism in the area.

“This is an important race as it promotes a healthy lifestyle, and also boosts the tourism potential of Batumi,” said Tornike Rizhvadze, the Head of the Adjara Government who also participated in the event.

Male winners were Kenyan runners Bernard Cheruiyot Sang and Hillary Kering and Georgian runner Davit Khazarishvili. Female winners were Kenyan runners Daisy Kimeli Jeptoo and Emily Chepkemoi Arusio and Russian runner Elena Rukhlyada.
