Tennis Player Basilashvili Ranks 16th in the World
The Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) World Rankings has placed Georgian tennis player Nikoloz Basilashvili 16th in the world.
Originally from Tbilisi, Basilashvili’s career is going from strength to strength. In July 2018, he became the first Georgian tennis player to ever win an ATP tournament at the German Open in Hamburg.
Basilashvili has reached the third or fourth round of many major tennis tournaments such as the Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon, and the US Open.
His ranking on 16th place follows his victory against French tennis players Tristan Lamasine and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in Lyon at the ATP clay-court tournament, where he will now face Canadian player Felix Auger-Aliassime in the final.
