Georgian Canoeist Wins First Stage of Canoe Sprint World Cup

Zaza Nadiradze, Georgian canoeist, has won the first stage of the Canoe Sprint World Cup, which took place in the city of Poznan, Poland,. Nadiradze claimed a golden medal by winning the 200-meter sprint race, covering the distance in 39.191 seconds.

Timur Khaidarov from Kazakhsktan followed Nadiradze in the second place, while the third place went to Belarusian canoeist Artsem Kozyr.

This is not the first success for the Georgian: in 2017 he claimed a bronze at the European Championship, while in 2018 he managed to get Georgia’s first-ever gold medal. In 2017, Nadiradze also won a silver at the World Cup.
