US Open: Basilashvili Makes the 3rd Round

On Thursday, August 29 Nikoloz Basilashvili toppled American Jenson Brooksby (rank number 394) in the 2nd round at the US Open, happening in New York.

Brooksby had a running start in the second set after winning the first. Basilashvili came back stronger in the next three sets and eventually his play during the 4th set won him the game and bought him an entry ticket to the 3rd round of the US Open.

After this match, the head-to-head between Basilashvili and Brooksby is 1-0 favoring Nikoloz.

Basilashvili will play against Dominik Koepfer in the 3rd round. The German Koepfer is ranked 118; promising tennis fans an even more interesting match. The round will take place on Saturday, August 31.
