Two Georgian Judokas Win European Junior Championship
Two Georgian judokas, Giorgi Tutashvili (-66kg) and Eter Liparteliani (-57kg), won the European Judo Championship in Finland.
358 participants from 44 nations are participating in the competition which kicked off on September 12. Georgia is presented at the championship by 14 athletes.
Tutashvili, 20, grabbed a silver medal at the Grand Prix in Tbilisi in 2019 at his debut. As a cadet, he won silver at the European Cup Cadets in Antalya in 2016.
Liparteliani, 19, won the EYOF title at home in Tbilisi in 2015. She is relative of prominent Georgian Judoka Varlam Liparteliani. She took silver at the 2019 European Open in Prague. She clinched a bronze medal at the Junior European Cup in Malaga in 2019. She claimed a bronze medal at the Grand Prix in Zagreb in 2019. She captured the gold medal at the Junior European Cup in Cluj Napoca in 2019.
