Georgian Greco-Roman Wrestlers Win World Championship

Georgian Greco-Roman wrestlers Nugzar Tsurtsumia and Lasha Gobadze have won the World Championship in Kazakhstan. 

In the final, Nugzar Tsurtsumia has defeated his Kazakh rival, wrestler Khorlan Zhakansha in the 55 kg category in 59 seconds and won the gold medal after a 12-year pause, while Lasha Gobadze has defeated Azerbaijani Rafig Huseynov in 82kg category.

The 2019 World Wrestling Championships is being held in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan from 14 September to 22 September 2019.

With its two gold medals, the Georgian team stands second after Russia with a total of 54 points.
