Georgian Wrestlers’ Success at World Wrestling Championship 2019

Georgian wrestlers have come out on top at the World Wrestling Championship 2019, taking place on September 14-22 in Kazakhstan.

Geno Petriashvili, heavyweight freestyle wrestler (125 kg) defeated the rival from Turkey in the finals and claimed the status of the World Champion for the third consecutive time.  

Beka Lomtadze has also won the gold at the Championships by defeating Magomedrasul Idrisov from Russia in the 61 kg category.

Greco-Roman wrestlers Nugzar Tsurtsumia and Lasha Gobadze, have also won in the 55 kg and 82 kg categories respectively.
