Georgian Weightlifter Lasha Talakhadze Sets New World Record

On September 27, Georgian weightlifter and Olympic Champion Lasha Talakhadze won a gold medal at the World Championship being held in Thailand by successfully using all 3 tries and lifting 208kg and then 215kg. At the same time, he set the new world record by snatching 220kg.

The World Weightlifting Championships in Thailand will end today.

Apart from being the Olympic Champion, the successful Georgian athlete is three-time World Champion, and four-time European Champion competing in the super-heavyweight category. He is a two-time winner of the IWF Male Lifter of the Year.
