Pachulia Meets Georgian Ambassador and Georgian Children in Washington DC

NBA player Zaza Pachulia stopped by the Georgian Embassy to the United States in Washington DC on Saturday.

Pachulia was in town with his team the Dallas Mavericks, who faced the Washington Wizards on Saturday, December 6th.

The Georgian Ambassador to the USA, as well as local children, met with Pachulia. During the meeting, Pachulia talked about the Georgian school in DC he supports, together with the Georgian Association in the USA.

“Education and hard work is vital to success,” he told the children.

Pachulia also talked about the Zaza Pachulia Basketball Academy in Tbilisi.The Academy helps to prepare future basketball talents with support given in sport psychology and in English, which Pachulia views both as “most important for a basketball and sports career.”

The Academy works with 250 children.

“I want to give back and have Georgian kids understand and learn true basketball”, Zaza said.

Pachulia also said he was very happy with the support he has received from the local Georgian fan base.

“I’m always excited to visit Washington, which has one of the largest Georgian bases in the USA,” he said. “Your support is what gives me motivation and I’m proud to represent Georgia.”

A local group of Georgians, organized through the Facebook group Georgian Thursdays, attended the match on Sunday which was won by Pachulia's team (116:104).
