Female Georgian Chess Player Forces Draw Against Norwegian Grandmaster

Georgian female chess player Nino Batsiashvili payed world champion Sven Magnus Øen CarlsenNorwegian chess grandmaste, to a draw.

His peak rating is 2882, the highest in history. The match took place in Doha, the capital of the State of Qatar.

 “I was happy,” Batsiashvili said. “In another tournament, I would not have been able to play him. It’s good for me and my chess skils,” Batsiashvili said.

 Georgian chess player Bela Xotenashvili played Russian Vladimir Kramnik, but unfortunately lost.


The Doha tournament includes 9 tours and 132 participants. The winner of the tour will get 27 thousand dollar, the second place 16 thousand dollars, and the third place collects 12 thousand dollars.
