New European Standard Tennis Facility Opens in Mziuri

Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili has opened a European standard tennis court in Mziuri.

The new facility consists of 9 outdoor and 2 indoor courts with all-weather artificial hard surfaces, changing rooms, catering areas and restrooms. The cost of the project is about 6.5 million Lari. PM Garibashvili congratulated tennis players on the opening of the new tennis courts.

“We’re glad to confirm that our Georgian sportsmen have a new international European standard tennis facility.

Many famous tennis players have come from Georgia and we hopes this will give us many more. A few weeks ago our beloved player Nikoloz Basilashvili succeeded again, reaching the 3rd round at Wimbledon and tennis courts like these will encourage players at all levels,” said Garibashvili.

It is hoped that, following the European Youth Olympic Festival, the Mziuri courts will host many national and international events.
